For 3p, 2 fennels, 700 grams of potatoes, 400 grams of butternut cut in thin slices (thanks to my kitchen robot Magimix). Make nice layers in a greased oven dish, starting with pumpkin, followed by potato and fennel. Put some pepper, salt and fennel seed powder in between the layers. Mix 200 ml of chicken broth, 200 ml of cream, 100 ml of milk with 4 chopped garlic cloves, 1 table spoon of dried basil, 1 teaspoon of fennel seeds, 50 grams of grated old pecorino, pepper and salt. Pour this mixture on the vegetables and spread carefully. Bake in the oven at 180° for 60 mins (cover with a baking paper helps to get a beautiful golden brown crust instead of a black one ;-)).
