Strange combination but…

Tonight I wanted to try something different with beetroot. After a bit of research I found this recipe. Iris was rather skeptical.

Boil 4 medium sized beetroot for approximately 1h. Cool down and remove the skin. Chop in large cubes and spread them in an oiled oven dish.

Heat 350 ml of semi skimmed milk with a bay leaf. Melt 1 table spoon of butter. Add 4 chopped garlic cloves. Bake, add 1 table spoon of flour. Stir and bake. Add the milk. Stir almost constantly. Add 1/2 of a cube of vegetable stock, pepper and 25 grams of grated parmesan cheese. Spread the sauce on the beetroot. Reheat the dish in a hot oven for 20mins.

Strange but delicious side dish.
