400-600 grams fresh or defrosted firm fish(salmon, shrimps, cod, …) is a nice portion for 2-3p.
Heat a pan with 1 table spoon of sunflower oil. Add 1 teaspoon of black (or white) mustard seeds and bake for 30 sec. Add 2 sliced onions and bake. Add 4 chopped garlic cloves and 1 chili and bake. Add 1 teaspoon of hot curry powder, 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric, 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds. Bake for a few more minutes.
Add 6 chopped tomatoes (or 1 can of tomatoes) and the juice of 1/2 lemon. Allow to simmer for 15 minutes. Stop the fire. Taste, add pepper and salt. Add fresh chopped parsley or basil(coriander would be’ even better).
Spread the fish in an oiled dish. Pour the sauce on the fish. Brush egg yolk on the edges of the dish. Cover with puff pastry ( try to have 2 cm overhanging edge). Brush egg yolk on the puff pastry. Spread 1/4 teaspoon of fennel seeds, 1/4 of black mustardseeds and some sea salt on the pastry.
Put the dish back in the fridge for 20 minutes. Bake in the oven at 200° for 25-30 minutes until golden.
