Cooking for pleasure

Cooking is my passion. I’m always happy if I can inspire guests who don’t share my ‘obsession’.

Spring has arrived, with all those amazing vegetables. Green asparagus is one of my favorites. In the following, super easy recipe, they are really shining.

Buy a ready made whole wheat puff pastry. Spread on the included baking paper on an oven tray. Make a few holes with a fork.

Preheat the oven at 200°.

Mix 1 package of Philadelphia light ( or similar fresh cheese) with 4 chopped garlic cloves, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper and 2 teaspoons of dried basil. Spread evenly on the dough.

Wash 500 grams of green asparagus. Remove the wooden end. Cut them lengthwise. Spread on the cheese. Season with pepper, salt and some dried basil. Finish with a drizzle of olive oil. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven. Spread 150 grams of smoked salmon. Bake for another 5-10 minutes. Serve with a few leaves of fresh basil.
