He always hoped something would fall on the floor. If I spent too many hours in the kitchen he would move himself to a less comfy but stylish pillow to snore in the kitchen while I was cooking. He was our dearest friend for almost 12 years. Today he died peacefully, in between the two of us.
Although he would have chosen Italian sausages, tonight’s dinner is a special one, a thank you for the special friendship.Remove fresh peas from their pods ( remains approximately 300 grams). Parboil them shortly. Drain and rinse with cold water.
Clean 500grams of green asparagus. Put them in an oven dish. Add 4 chopped garlic cloves and a drizzle of olive oil. Bake in the oven at 180° for approximately 20 minutes. Stir halfway. Put the peas in the pan. Spread defrosted North Sea shrimps, pepper, salt and a mixture of fresh chopped parsley and the zeste of 1 lemon.
Serve with new potatoes ( boiled with a bay leaf in the middle)and good olive oil.
Bye, dear friend. We had a great time with you and now, we have wonderful memories.
Dear Pillo, altough I always called you Pillio. You where a strange dog, on your own and also searching for attention. Running after a ball like crazy and barking sometimes for nothing. When you saw a tablecloth, hanging low enough that it could touch your skin, you went to it and slowly, enjoyed the touch of fabric with your skin. Strange and funny. Wherever your owners went to, you where there,,,,you spoiled brath….Enjoy life after life and sleep tight….xxx

Pillo/Pillio you were some lucky dog to have been in such a safe warm and gastronomic haven. I hope life hereafter will have some sausages in store for you. Your owners will surely miss you…

Hallo Veerle
Vorige zomer liep hij nog rond toen we je kwamen bezoeken. De trappen ging niet meer zoals een jong veulen maar hij volgde jou de hele tijd.
Sterkte en inderdaad een berg mooie herinneringen.
Heel veel groeten!
Liefs
Joeri
