The famous Portuguese pasteis de nata❤

Baking pastries is dangerous 😉 but now and again 🙏.

The following recipe for those delicious sweeties is quick and easy.

For 12 little cakes you need 1 rectangular ready made puff pastry, 2 eggs, 75 grams of sugar, the zeste of 1 lemon, 150 ml cream, 15 grams of flour, 1 cinnamon stick and 1/3 of a vanilla stick.

Heat 100 ml of the cream, add the opened and scraped vanilla, the cinnamon, the grated zeste and the sugar. Mix the rest of the cream with the egg yolks and the flour. Mix the mixture quickly with the warm cream. Reheat and stir constantly. Once the mixture becomes thicker, stop the fire. Cool down, remove the cinnamon and vanilla stick.

Roll the puff pastry loose. Slice rolls of 3cm. Press each roll round and flat. Put them in muffin papers in a muffin form. Bake during 20 mins in a preheated oven at 200.

Serve preferably warm. Finish with a mixture of cinnamon powder and powder sugar. 😋
