Number 1 : BANANA CAKE for 14 pieces
Bananas with a brown skin are not attractive anymore, but they are perfect to use in a banana cake. I always ‘save’ them on time, peel them and put them in a plastic bag in the freezer. They are also perfect for a smoothie, for banana ice cream and for this banana cake. Defrost 4 little bananas. Mix them with 200 grams of brown sugar, 100 ml of sunflower oil, 300 grams of self-raising flour, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 0.5 ml of vanilla extract. Add chopped fresh banana. Pour in an oiled cake form and bake in the oven for approx 1h at 180° (check the inside with a skewer). Remove the cake, cool down. Decorate with some powdered sugar( to hide the beauty flaws ;-)).
Number 2 : ORANGE CAKE for 12 pieces
Wash 1 orange thoroughly. Mix the zeste and juice with 250 grams of ricotta, 3 eggs, 180 grams of self-raising flour, 120 grams of sugar and 100 grams of melted butter. Pour in a springform covered with baking paper. Bake (at the same time as the banana cake) at 180° for approx 1h (check with a skewer). Remove the cake and cool down.
