Looking into a map with collected recipes (you probably recognize the habit to read a recipe, tear it out the magazine or write it on a piece of paper, put it in a box or a map, without even preparing it once) I found a recipe of my grandparents apple pie which I never made before. For nostalgic reasons I decided to follow the recipe instead of creating my own version.
The amount of certain ingredients is not really clear : 6 full table spoons of flour and 6 full table spoons of brown sugar? I decide to use a cup to obtain equal amounts. I start filling the cup with 6 full table spoons of self raising flour. I refill the cup at the same level with the brown sugar. Mix to prevent clotting. Add 2 egg yolks, 6 table spoons of milk, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Mix. Add the battered egg whites. Pour the dough in a buttered flat cake recipient. Spread thinly sliced apple wedges ( for this pie count almost 3 medium sized apples.
Bake in the oven at 180° for 30-40 minutes ( check with a pin).
Have a lovely Sunday.
